The University of York is a research-intensive campus university in the northern city of York. The University is made up of nine different colleges (in a similar way to the Oxbridge universities). Every student is assigned to a college and the colleges are made up of students from a mix of academic disciplines.
It is a traditional university with a very strong academic and research focus and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research intensive universities.
