    The University of Dundee gained independence in 1967, having previously been part of the University of St Andrews, and is one of two universities in the city (alongside Abertay University).

    The university offers strong academic curriculum ranging from humanities, social science and philosophy, to medicine, dentistry, engineering, maths and physics.

    It has its own medical school and also undertakes significant clinical research, as well as offering degrees in nursing an midwifery.

    It also has a strong reputation in Art (it is home to the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design – one of the UK’s leading schools of art and design) and in law (it is home to the Dundee Law School)
