The University of Brighton has five campuses spread across three towns on the south coast of England (Brighton, Hastings and Eastbourne). It has a background as an arts college and gained university status in 1992. It now has a wide curriculum focused on professional education in subject areas such as pharmacy, engineering, environment, computing, architecture, nursing, teaching, sport, journalism, criminology, business and Medicine. It is also building up a strong research reputation, particularly in engineering related areas.
Since 2003 it has had a medical school (run jointly with the University of Sussex)
The University’s international college provides preparatory courses for students from outside the EU.
