  • Profile

The University of the Highlands and Islands in the north of Scotland is one of the UK’s more remote universities with some of its campuses in the Shetland Isles, Orkney Islands and the Outer Hebrides as well as within Highland cities such as Inverness. It is a vocational university with its courses delivered by a range of partners around Highlands and Islands, Moray and Perthshire. Although many of its delivery partners have relatively long histories it has only had university status since 2011.

It offers many unique courses in subjects such as Scottish History and Gaelic, Golf Management, and Adventure Tourism Management. It also offers a range of more mainstream subjects such as Science, Health and Engineering, and has a strong reputation in Environmental Science, Renewables, Marine Science, and Sustainable Rural Development.
