The University of East London (established in 1992) sits across three campuses in the east of London (two in Stratford and one in the Docklands). Its Docklands Campus is the largest of the three and situated near London City Airport and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). It opened SportsDock, a £21 million sports and academic centre, in March 2012 and this Centre served as the Training Centre for Team USA during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
One of its Stratford campuses is jointly own with Birkbeck University and focuses on full and part-time adult education. It is also home to its School of Law and Social Sciences, and the Institute of Performing Arts.
The Stratford Campus is close to the 2012 Olympic Park. It is home to the Cass School of Education and Communities, the School of Health Sport and Bioscience and the School of Psychology and The Centre for Clinical Education.
