The University of East Anglia (UEA) , which is based on the outskirts of Norwich, opened its doors in the 1960s. Its campus is characterised by its unique, modern, concrete architecture. In fact it has been chosen as the backdrop for the Avengers Headquarters in the film Avengers Age of Ultron and has also featured in Ant Man, Captain America Civil War and Spiderman Homecoming!

The University places a strong focus on research, has its own medical school and hosts a large research park on its campus. It is highly renowned for its environmental research and was chosen by the UK government to host the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

The University has its own medical school and one of the University’s alumni Sir Paul Nurse was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine for discoveries into key regulators of the cell cycle.

Whilst the University offers a broad range of curriculum across all subject areas, it is particularly famed for its literature, art and creative writing contributions; it has graduated three Booker Prize winners: Kazuo Ishiguro, Ian McEwan ad Anne Enright.

The University boasts great sporting facilities with an olympic size swimming pool and other substantial multi-sports facilities including flood light pitches and climbing walls.

The University is one of a number of universities providing the opportunity to study for a full degree over two years.
