  • Profile

Officially the University of Northumbria at Newcastle but generally referred to as Northumbria University. As its official name suggested the University is based in the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North-East of England.

It is the perfect university if you want to study a range of applied and vocational subjects in the centre of the thriving city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

It gained university status in 1992. Its main campus is based in the centre of the city either side of the A167 (M) motorway!  The east side is home to Law, Design and Business and the west side is home to Arts, Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, as well as the student union. It has a bridge linking both sides of the campus.

There is a further campus a couple of miles from the city centre and that is home to Health and Education subjects.
