Leeds Beckett University is perfect if you want to study in a large city towards a vocation or career in areas such as accounting, nursing, marketing, teaching or social care. It’s also particularly good if you are a very sporty type as it has great sports facilities especially rugby and athletics.

The University was formerly Leeds Metropolitan University and became a university in 1992. It didn’t adopt its current name until 2014 (although its origins date back as far as 1824 as Leeds Mechanics Institute).

Its academic buildings are located across two campuses in the city of Leeds and it also has a variety of student accommodation in the nearby area.

The University focuses on a wide curriculum with a focus on applied subjects such as nursing, accounting, events management, marketing, teaching, social care, and sports related courses.

It has a large number of successful sports people amongst its alumni, particularly in athletics and rugby (union and league)
