  • Profile

Cranfield is perfect for you if you want to study an industry-focused qualification at postgraduate level in Engineering or Management in a rural yet easily accessible location.

It is a wholly postgraduate university, in rural Bedfordshire, specialising in Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Management.

Originally founded after the Second World War as the College of Aeronautics on a former RAF base to address a shortage in trained aerospace engineers, it has since expanded to cover key science and engineering areas such as Automotive,  Environment, Water, Energy, as well as Management.

It is highly research intensive (particularly commercial research) and is industry engaged. It is also one of the leading provisers of continuing professional development to business and industry.

As well as its main campus next to the small, rural town of Cranfield in Bedfordshire, it runs academic provision for the MoD in defence-related subjects in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire.

It is the only UK university to have its own airport!
